National Medal of Honor Day
National Medal of Honor Day was established in 1990, when then-President George H.W. Bush signed legislation designating March 25th as National Medal of Honor Day. The date is particularly significant because the first Medal of Honor was awarded on March 25, 1863.
Last year, the National Medal of Honor Museum started a new tradition on Medal of Honor Day, on March 25th at 3:25PM — a Moment of Honor. This new tradition is a simple and respectful way to pay tribute to those who have received our nation’s highest award for valor in combat. How to Participate in National Medal of Honor Day 2021
1. Join us at 3:25PM on March 25th for a Moment of Honor, whether it be spent in prayer, reflection, sharing a recipient story on social media, or simply having a grateful heart for the acts of valor behind the Medal of Honor.
2. Create a Facebook Fundraiser to help raise funds, ensuring the Armed Forces Heritage Museum will be able to forever memorialize recipients and their stories.
