Presidents Report February 2026
AFHM February 2026 Presidents report
The last month has been a weather challenge for all of us, the snow onJanuary 25 coming exactly 10 years to the day after our last 12-inch
snow. Many people got more or less, but it was a challenge for all. Thesubzero cold on the following weekend caused more challenges. Be
careful in this crazy weather. Here is hoping for a beauJful Spring!!! Wehave daffodils popping through the snow today.
The AFHM is proud to have the dedication of Bob vonBargen, RonHathaway, Kelly Atkinson, Drew vonBargen and the many volunteers
who spent untold hours doing the research, production, interviews, andediting for the “Right to Fight” program. They made 28 episodes for thisdedicatin
year showing the dedication and sacrifice of Blacks in the Military, andhow hard they worked to show their strength in service to America. The
episodes are added daily to our website during February’s Black History Month to showcase the greatness of the sacrifices made. Please join us
on Sunday, 22 February at the Burlington County Historical Society for the “Right to Fight” presentation, brought to you by
the BCHS and the Armed Forces Heritage Museum. The event kicks offat 2 PM at 454 Lawrence Street in Burlington City.
I attended the Burlington County Military Action Committee dinnerhonoring our Military from Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst on
January 22. All branches of Service were in attendance and well represented. It is very refreshing seeing the professionalism and
dedication to their mission of keeping our freedom. The passion of service was brought out as the individuals got up and told us who they
were and a little bit about themselves. We should consider ourselves fortunate to have this caliber of warfighters protectng our national
security.
I took part in the Burlington County Historical Roundtable event at the county library discussing the County wide events for the 250th.
It was a morning well spent for sure, we picked up a few Mobile Museum events in new venues. The list of events is on our website and will be updated
as new things come up. Please come out to support us and enjoy the day.
We continue to work toward the merger with the T.B. McGuire Foundation. We opened an account at TD bank to deposit the merged
funds into the new Armed Forces Heritage/T. B. McGuire Foundation account.
Part of the Executive Commitee is discussing and working with Burlington Press to update our website. If you have any ideas for
changes, please let Sandy Conville and me know so we can consider them as part of the upgrade.
Respectfully submitted,
Bryan Branson, President
AFHM
