Historical Program of the 1st African Americans to serve in the Marine Corps

Kelly Atkinson, Marine Corps Veteran and Vice President of the New Jersey Montford Point Marines Association, will present a program on the history of the first African Americans to serve in the Marine Corps. Learn about their experiences as they gained the “Right to Fight” as combat Marines in World War II. 

On display will be objects and documents from the BCHS Collection highlighting the African American story in Burlington County during the 18th and 19th centuries.  
Refreshments will be served.
