On This Date November 19,1863-President Lincoln delivers his Gettysburg Address

November 19, 1863 – US President Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg address
beginning; “Four score & seven years ago…” Senator Edward Everett spoke for two hours;
President Linclon spoke for less than three minutes. In that time, Lincoln described what the
Declaration of Independence meant and what this war effort meant to the United States
