On This Date May 25,1787- US Constitutional Convention convenes

May 25, 1787 – the United States Constitutional Convention formally convenes in Philadelphia,
when a quorum of seven states is secured. Two years later, the Constitution is ratified, replacing
the Articles of Confederation.
