On This Date June 17,1775- The Battle of Bunker Hill

June 17, 1775 – Colonists inflict heavy casualties on British forces while losing the Battle of
Bunker Hill. Although it is a military victory for the British, it is a moral victory for the American
forces, and the British feel the embarrassment of not being able to make a better stand against
the Colonists.
