On This Date July 1,1780- NJ hosts the Continental Army

July 1-29, 1780 – Washington headquarters at Dey Mansion in Wayne; Lafayette headquarters
at the Van Saun House in Wayne; and the Continental Army soldiers encamp over the
surrounding area through what is now Totowa, Little Falls and Woodland Park.
