On This Date August18,1914- Woodrow Wilson issues the “Proclamation of Neutrality”

August 18, 1914 – former NJ governor and now President of the United States, President
Woodrow Wilson issues “Proclamation of Neutrality”. In it, he says “Every man who really loves
America will act and speak in the true spirit of neutrality, which is the spirit of impartiality and
fairness and friendliness to all concerned.
